PCI Geomatics Wins 2010 Geospatial Leadership Award from GeoTec Media

Richmond Hill, Ontario – April 15, 2010: PCI Geomatics, a world leading developer of geo-imaging software and systems is pleased to announce it has won the Geospatial Innovator Award from GeoTec Media for its GeoConference software solution, as publicized at the GeoTec Event in Toronto, ON.

This award is presented to a geospatial tool developer that has created new software or hardware that expands the possibilities of the geospatial industry. GeoConference allows groups to share and view maps and images interactively over the web, in real-time. It contains tools for hosting interactive geospatial teleconferences, linking clients in remote locations and facilitating connections to geospatial databases.

PCI Geomatics won the Geospatial Innovator Award previously in 2009 for GeoImaging Accelerator (formerly ProLines GeoImaging Server).

“It is an honour to be recognized by GeoTec Media, two years in a row, for our ground-breaking technology,” said Terry Moloney, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at PCI Geomatics. “GeoConference provides leading edge geospatial web conferencing abilities by bringing together various departments in real-time, for effective decision making and cost cutting initiatives.”

PCI Geomatics Releases New GeoImaging Tools Software for GIS Users

Richmond Hill, Ontario – April 13, 2010: PCI Geomatics, a world leading developer of geo-imaging software and systems is pleased to announce the release of GeoImaging Tools for ArcGIS™. Offering accurate and highly automated tools for correcting raw satellite imagery, GeoImaging Tools is revolutionizing the integration of remotely sensed imagery into GIS workflows.

With the GeoImaging Tools Image Correction Module, ArcGIS users will now be able to access 70+ commercial optical, radar and aerial sensors in their GIS workflows. Users will have the option of using sensor model information to perform registrations, optionally with automatic GCPs and tie points from reference data such as chip databases, reference mosaics, or vectors. Higher levels of registration accuracy are achievable via block bundle adjustments. Users also have the option of saving the correction parameters into the ArcGIS Raster Processing Definition (RPDef) format for direct use with the ArcGIS Server Image Extension for on-the-fly processing reducing data duplication.

With a sharp increase in data volume and collection platforms in recent years, accurate registration of large complex datasets remains a challenge. PCI’s GeoImaging Tools provides unparalleled automation for correcting imagery, making it possible for GIS users to achieve critical tasks such as feature extraction and change detection.

“With access to many unsupported sensors and data formats, along with the ability to create more spatially accurate imagery, GeoImaging Tools is opening up new doors for GIS users,” said Terry Moloney, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “With automatic GCP collection and block bundle adjustments, GeoImaging Tools will eliminate time consuming manual tasks and help GIS users more easily integrate imagery into their workflows.”

Peter Becker, ESRI Product Manager - Imagery noted that, “PCI’s GeoImaging Tools significantly increases the range of commercial satellite images that our users can now use with ArcGIS and enables them to quickly refine the georeferencing accuracy for location critical applications.”

“We are very pleased to see PCI integrating their products with ESRI’s GIS and imagery platform,” said Lawrie Jordan, ESRI’s Director for Imagery Solutions.

GeoImaging Tools are designed specifically for ArcGIS users who use imagery within their workflows. The Image Correction Module represents the initial release of GeoImaging Tools; the Radar Module will be released within the coming months, providing the best tools for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data processing and analysis, including a comprehensive Polarimetric toolkit and support for all commercially available SAR sensors.
